Medical Billing Specialist (Payment Posting Focus)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate and timely posting of all insurance and patient payments, helping ensure the integrity of our revenue cycle operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post insurance payments and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) daily

• Post patient payments and balance copays in a timely manner

• Process lockbox payments accurately

• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized payment records

• Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and unapplied balances

• Support overall revenue cycle operations as needed

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in medical billing or payment posting preferred

• Knowledge of major insurance companies and payer guidelines preferred

• Familiarity with the revenue cycle management (RCM) process preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

• Ability to manage daily workloads and meet productivity expectations

• Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office
